QSR BRANDS BHD has obtained an approval in principle from Yum! Restaurants Asia Pte Ltd, to operate the Pizza Hut business in Cambodia, following its success in managing KFC Restaurants there.

For this purpose, QSR said its unit, Kampuchea Food Corporation Co Ltd (KFCL) will incorporate a new wholly-owned subsidiary with an authorised and paid-up share capital of RM2.4 million.

It said the move would further broaden QSR's earnings base from overseas ventures as KFC had already made its presence felt in Indochina.

Although a low-income country, Cambodia has the potential for growth as the country embraces democracy and institutional reforms which are well supported by the World Bank, the United Nations and others. -- BERNAMA
