Indian bond yields off day's lows, rate cut eyed

Reuters - Tuesday, December 2

MUMBAI, Dec 1 - Indian federal bond yields traded off the day's lows in late afternoon trade on Monday, as investors sold bonds to cash in on the fall in yields, even as expectations of a rate cut persisted.

* At 4:35 p.m., the 10-year bond yield <IN082418G=CC> was at 7.04 percent, off the day's low of 7.01 percent, its lowest since September 2005. It had ended at 7.07 percent on Friday.

* The central bank is expected to lower key rates further to bolster a slowing economy, after aggressively easing monetary policy over the last two months as credit markets froze amid the global financial gloom. (Reporting by Neha D'silva and Anurag Joshi; Editing by Ramya Venugopal)
